Circle Toward Wholeness is a unifying grassroots movement that connects people with their greater self and the peace that resides there. Our world is changing. We could easily find reasons to live in fear of the future. Circle Toward Wholeness is about another choice, the conscious decision to fully engage with our world and live a more sustainable, healthy, happy life. Gathering together in homes, businesses and workplaces we will learn and practice the life skills we need to navigate this changing world. This is real life awareness that affects our productivity and sense of happiness in daily life.
Discovery IS the secret of this work. Awareness IS NOT a quick change fix. Awareness IS NOT about learning something new so that you can better control yourself with this self improvement idea. Awareness IS about experience, engagement, exploration and discovery.
Circle Toward Wholeness is dedicated to developing innovative programs that help us understand inner peace and awareness. In fulfilling that mission, we act as the infrastructure to connect FACILITATORS (passionate and skilled about an awareness tool that has changed their lives) with HOSTS (people gathered in one place who want to practice that skill). A truly heartfelt connection sparks easily among those gathered because there is passion and understanding that what they are learning together will change their lives. Teacher or student we are all walking the same path.
Awareness begins with SPIRIT or BREATH. Spirit and Breath are with us when we first enter this world and signal when it is time to leave. There are many practical SPIRIT/BREATH tools available to help keep us centered and in the moment, no matter what our environment.
Focusing next on our MIND, we work with COOPERATIVE COMMUNICATION AWARENESS. Why are we taught to count to 10 before responding to harsh criticism? What are some positive language patterns that could help us communicate clearer? How do our underlying beliefs cause communication problems? What are universal human needs? What is a choice? What is really going on with our emotions?
Coming full circle, we focus on our PHYSICAL HEALTH or BODY AWARENESS. What is it about taking a walk in the woods, petting a soft animal, eating a healthy meal or hugging friends that calms us? What is it in our body language that makes or breaks that first impression? How can we be more aware of messages hidden in our physical pain so that we can become our own healers?
Within the SPIRIT, MIND and BODY balance, we embed INNER REFLECTION and CREATIVE PROCESS AWARENESS. In wholeness, we affirm our purpose on this planet and the reality that our story is a work in progress. What we do not yet know about ourselves may prove more important than what we do know. How is it we dance with inspiration and creativity to give birth to new ideas, new ways of thinking that propel us towards a sustainable, peaceful world.
In our WHOLENESS CIRCLE programs we carefully craft a setting that encourages our shy soul to make an appearance. Imagine finding yourself in a setting so soothing that the noises around and within you subside. Imagine further that in the quiet you begin to recognize the whispers of your own inner guidance, that place of truth-telling within us that we sometimes call heart, soul or spirit. Utilizing nature, art, poetry & music we learn how to nurture our heart and that of those around us; we practice skills such as deep listening, storytelling and asking honest, open questions. These skills are invaluable in our relationship with ourselves as well as our relationship with others.
And finally, we look to NATURE as the ultimate teacher of harmony and balance. NATURE AWARENESS shows us how it is done, coevolving integrated systems for sustenance and natural regeneration on all scales. Join us as we explore and reconnect with the wonders outdoors as well as educate ourselves on sustainable gardening and permaculture techniques.
Join us! Attend one or more of these programs to discover or renew your passion(s) for life, whether related to work, family or community. If we are not already in one of your communities, contact us about HOSTING a program convenient for you. Together, we move forward!
"You have noticed
that everything an Indian does
is in a circle and that is because the
Power of the World always works in circles,
and everything tries to be round... Everything the
Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky
is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like
a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest
power, whirls. Birds make their nests in circles, for theirs
is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes
down again in a circle. The moon does the same, and both
are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their
changing. Our tepees were rounds like the nests of birds,
and these were always set in a circle. The nation's
hoop, a nest of many nests, where the Great Spirit
meant for us to hatch out children."

Volunteer Opportunities:
Build it and they will come! In uniting our many unique threads of wisdom we shall weave a strong beautiful tapestry to nurture ourselves and our community. Volunteer support programs meet monthly. We serve ourselves to best serve others.
Circle Toward Wholeness is currently recruiting for the following volunteer committees:
COMMUNITY HOSTS: are key to spreading inner peace and wellness awareness in the New River and Roanoke Valleys. They understand that peace in the world begins within ourselves. They are ready to gather friends and co-workers to explore one or more areas of awareness with the intention of supporting each other in authentic and sustainable living. Community Hosts like learning, socializing and the sense of community that forms around common interests. Hosts provide a location and work closely with our Director and Program Facilitators to schedule a series of programs that successfully fills the niche they sense in their community. Initially, it may be a gathering to learn self-massage, forest gardening or to practice yoga or honest compassionate communication. It ends with more meaningful friendships, hope and a better sense of our place in this world.
PROGRAM HOSPITALITY: working closely with Program Facilitators, this volunteer team excels at feeding the senses what is required for successful studies of inner peace. Whether it be preparing tea and snacks, providing peaceful music, specifically arranging seating, or welcoming participants as they arrive, hospitality supports the facilitator and the eventual success of each event by being aware and present to the appropriate atmosphere required.
